The John Ross House is an important part of Chattanooga and U.S. history. The Foundation has done a great job preserving the House and using it to illustrate a picture of the impact Chief John Ross had on the Cherokee Nation, the Trail of Tears, and American history. It is well worth a visit--currently by appointment only--while the City of Rossville does its best to ignore and marginalize their namesake.
