We've been very happy with VME the past two years. The building is nearly brand new- it's light, bright, clean and very inviting. My kids have been blessed with outstanding teachers who care deeply about their students. The school is diverse in every way and the staff is very attuned to proving customized learning for each and every student. My kids are always excited to go to school and eager to tell us about what they're learning. This is also a school that you can tell focuses on making sure students and their families feel welcome. If you are volunteering the principal will stop and thank you for being there. The dads arrive early once a week to greet the students getting off of the buses and coming through carpool and you'll see many parents and relatives volunteering and visiting their students at lunch. Carmen at the front desk is delightful and seems to know just about all the families by name. The cafeteria manager as well knows each student's name and makes a point to connect with them as they come through her line. It's a small school and from what I've seen the kids reap the rewards of having such a close knit group. As you would expect with a new school, certain school traditions and communication procedures are still being formalized but it doesn't interfere with the heart and hard work being put in to educating the students.
