Tellus Science Museum

Why can't this museum be closer to Atlanta/Decatur! Tellus has a fabulous gem collection. My daughter (8 years old) loves the gem mining and fossil hunting activities they have here. They also have a decent exhibit of antique cars and planes. Their most interactive attraction/indoor playground (My Big Backyard) is probably my daughter's favorite after the gem/fossil activities. We have not had a chance to check out the planetarium or the observatory. Overall, this museum is smaller than some others, and we may get bored with the exhibits that are here. But for now, we have a membership and are willing to drive 45 minutes to come spend the day at Tellus.
