Macon-Bibb County Health Department

As an employee of the Macon-Bibb County Health Department, I can say that we provide a service to the community that allows many who have no other means of seeking health or health education-related services to receive treatment or education. It is true that people may have to wait for some services, but it is also true that the population we serve numbers into the THOUSANDS. We literally see hundreds of people each week. It is also true that we operate within the limits of the legislation and budget that we are appointed by our government leaders. Considering the state of the economy (yes we are still feeling the effects of the recession), we do the best we can with the resources and limited staff available. We enjoy working with the public and we aim to treat every client with respect, understanding and a high-quality experience - even those that are less than pleasant to work with. We love our work and we love Bibb County's residents, but like any public service facility, we are not going to be able to get to every client as soon as that client may think we should. It is an impossible task. We have thousands to serve not just one. We look forward to serving you!
