I found her completely unsympathetic and overall the opposite of what a psychologist should be. After telling her about my abusive, violent younger sister who has been known to chase people around with knives and tells me I'm useless, ugly, fat, etc. all of the time, she had the nerve to tell me that it was my fault that my sister behaved this way toward me because she was "getting fed up with me" for having health problems. She asked why I didn't want a closer relationship with my dad, and so I told her he used to beat my mom, my siblings, and me when I was a kid. Her response? "Why didn't you leave?" Since, you know, children have the means to pack up their bags and leave home.
She was insulting, uncaring, and you couldn't pay me to go back. I was a psychology major in school initially (graduated with a psychology minor after changing my major), and she embodied everything we were taught that therapists should NOT be.
