Moved here from out of state. My appointment time was for 1pm and I was told to arrive 30 minutes early. I did...only to be greeted by a sign on the door saying they were out to lunch. I walked in the lobby and no one was there...nobody! At 1:05 the receptionist came out. I told her I was told to show up 30 minutes early. She blamed it on the "old people" who schedule appointments. I suggested someone fix that. The PA was cold. The place was cold. The room was like a cell. When Dr. Cheekati came into the room she looked harried and acted like I was just another new pain in the butt patient. She half listened. My main reason for going was to establish a new PCP and to get estrogen. She told me I would need blood tests. I asked her if she knew a good chiropractor. She said she "didn't believe in them." I am a believer in integrated holistic care and I realized I selected a doctor who was very rigid and who was not a good listener or responder. I waited for 10 minutes and finally the PA cane back to take blood. I was bruised for a week. When the results came back everything was in the portal...they don't want to talk to you. I was livid because Dr. Cheekati never did an estrogen test, yet that was the PRIMARY reason I went there. I wrote in the portal about how ridiculous this was and a waste of my time. She did write the prescription and it made a huge difference. But, I don't want to fight any doctor about my healthcare. It should be a partnership. I really felt like she should be in research. She had very little respect or patience for what I had to say about my own healthcare. Now I need to find another doctor. She was a waste of my time and money.

My fiancé went to see emory in alpharetta yesterday, this is her first time seeing any doctor for about 6 years. She is 22 female with anxiety and bipolar depression, the receptionist was amazing along with the medical assistant they had there, she was very knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Cheekati right off the bat seemed to have this chip on her shoulder towards me before she even came into the room and when she proceeded to do a procedure i left and made some personal calls, when I come back in my fiancé is hysterical and in tears and apparently the Dr told her to "be strong" and implied that she was or is being manipulated to take drugs. My fiancé and I felt that from Dr. Cheekati standpoint to take someone fragile already and make it worse with your bedside manner is a horrible thing to do to a patient in general let alone one with issues. Recap great staff and assistants but Dr. Cheekati herself I will NEVER take my business or refer business to her again after this experience. This is my first review I have written on anyone or anything, I am a medical assistant as well.
